Privacy & data handling

Updated October 22, 2026. This notice covers the CARBON homepage and its Cloud/Local entry points. The separate legacy chat privacy policy applies to the older chat experience, not to every CARBON workflow.

Homepage versions and optional Fathom measurement

The homepage randomly selects one of four page concepts. Without measurement consent, it remembers only the concept and assignment time in session storage for a consistent visit. With a fresh explicit Fathom choice, the assignment is retained locally for up to 30 days. We do not create or send a visitor identifier. The old experimental collector identifier is removed when this page loads.

Measurement is off by default and respects Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Fathom is loaded only on testers.ai or www.testers.ai after opt-in; explicit previews and other hosts send no analytics. We send one manual homepage pageview with a fixed homepage URL and blank referrer, plus fixed-name events identifying the experiment, page concept and action. Event names never include emails, form contents, code or reports. Fathom processes network and browser information under its own privacy policy. Do not put personal information in URLs or campaign tags.

Actions include page exposure, install instructions, CTA and marketplace clicks, copied setup/test/demo requests, demo disclosure, updates-form submission attempts, errors and confirmed saves. They measure engagement, not identified people, actual installations, executed tests, purchases or email delivery. Each action is emitted at most once per page load. Fathom receipt is not guaranteed: privacy tools, network failures and leaving the page can prevent collection.

Turn measurement off using the control below the homepage hero. This stops new events and removes the locally persisted assignment; clearing browser data removes preferences too. Turning it off does not delete previously collected aggregate data. Fathom analytics retention follows the account/service settings; the 30-day local assignment expiry does not delete Fathom data. Optional CARBON updates requests

If you submit the optional updates form with its permission checkbox selected, your name, email, permission text, request identifier, source label and receipt time are saved in Testers.ai’s private Google Sheet and emailed to jason@testers.ai. This requests occasional CARBON workflow tips and release updates; it does not create a paid account or grant Cloud access. We do not send an automatic welcome email. Request removal or unsubscribe by emailing jason@testers.ai. The form works with Fathom measurement off. If measurement is on, only fixed-name submit, saved or error events are sent to Fathom; no names, emails, permission text or request identifiers. A saved event requires a matching server acknowledgment but is not proof of email delivery. Form answers are not saved to browser storage. Retrying an unchanged request in the same page uses the same request ID to avoid duplicate rows.

The coding-agent displays are illustrations, not live test results. Cloud and legacy entry pages may have their own forms and campaign-attribution behavior; these are separate from this homepage experiment.

Free homepage checks

Submitting the homepage URL form starts a real public sample after your authorization confirmation. Your URL, captured page content, findings, and report are public; do not submit private applications or sensitive data. No email or account is required for this entry path. The browser retains the report identifier, time, and status in session storage to reconnect without starting duplicate runs; it is used for up to 24 hours. Fathom receives fixed-name funnel events for page visits, requests, acceptance, and observed outcomes—not target URLs, email addresses, report identifiers, or polling events. Completion tracking only records results observed while this page is open; it is not a count of all backend runs.

Using CARBON Cloud

When you submit the steering form, your target URL, email address, and optional context are sent to the Testers.ai cloud service to prepare a test plan. Uploaded specifications and custom tests are also sent when included. Running a plan requires cloud access to your target; captured page content, screenshots, requests, and results may contain information visible in the tested application. AI processing depends on the chosen cloud configuration and providers.

Use synthetic accounts and data. Only submit targets you are authorized to test. Do not paste passwords, private keys, or sensitive customer records into ordinary notes. Check the run’s visibility setting before execution and before sharing a report. A publicly shared report can be read by others; local browser storage is not an access-control boundary.

Cloud plan details currently advertise 30-day report retention. Account records, support correspondence, operational logs, backups, and connected AI-provider handling are separate from that report window. For requirements about exact deletion, data location, provider processing, or contractual retention, contact hello@testers.ai before sending sensitive material. Clearing your browser does not delete cloud reports.

Using the Local Harness

The harness runs in your coding agent and saves project artifacts locally. “Local” does not mean that your coding-agent provider processes no data: its own account, model, tool, and privacy settings apply. Optional cloud testing and integrations send the selected inputs to the configured service. Review those settings before enabling them.

Contact requests

When you ask to talk with us, we collect your name, email, company, role, product and plan interest, intended use, desired outcome, and problems to solve. These answers are stored in a private Testers.ai Google Sheet and sent by email to jason@testers.ai so we can respond. A request does not create an account, start a subscription, or subscribe you to marketing emails. Contact jason@testers.ai to ask about or delete your inquiry. Please do not submit passwords or confidential customer data. The form does not save your answers to browser storage or send them to Fathom.

Accounts, billing, and choices

Cloud account and billing actions open Testers.ai services and may continue to Stripe. These services process the account or payment information you submit. Local account/session information can remain in your browser until you sign out or clear the relevant site data.
